One of the four Mehr Chain Hotels in Yazd is Fahadan Museum Hotel located in the heart of old city of Yazd.
\r\nThis ancient monument is the first museum hotel in Iran and a memorial of architectural style of the Qajar era. Mr. Sheikh Mehdi Arab, a carpet merchant, built this house about 250 years ago. His family later got the nickname of the Tehraniha, and since then it became known as the House of the Tehraniha.
\r\nThe exclusive features of Fahadan hotel, the presence of various treasures of the monuments in this house, as well as its beauty and magnificence have made this hotel as the Museum of Yazd. This mansion was also Office of Economic Consulate of some European countries such as France and Germany for a period of time. This hotel is already registered as a National Iranian Monument.
\r\nFahadan Hotel in Yazd has three courtyards. The first one is called Narenjestan, in English means “the place of sour oranges”, i.e. a small yard with few orange trees usually for the owner’s privacy. This part is currently used as a coffee shop. The second court yard is called Kolah Farangi, a pavilion. The third courtyard is the main courtyard of the two-story building. The building includes the rooms in two stories, a large hall with a large active badgir (wind tower), the well-house above the Saradb, the part of house which has a pond of water, usually cold and pleasant for resting and sitting, and the qanat which flows under the house in a tunnel. The traditional appearance of the inner side along with the blue pool in the center, wooden beds, trees and beautiful colorful flowers, provide a pleasant atmosphere for guests of the hotel to enjoy themselves. Fahadan Museum Hotel of Yazd has 28 rooms ( sedari and panjdari, room with 3 and 5 doors), which in total the hotel has 75 beds. A stunning Shahneshin room (where the king settles) with two dedicated badgirs is among the special elements of this mansion.
