When Is the Best Time to Travel to Iran?
Generally, the best time to visit Iran is from March to May (Spring) and September to October (Fall) because the weather almost in every corner is mild; however, prices rise in these two periods of time.
Is Nowruz Good for Traveling to Iran?
Nowruz or Iranian New Year is national holiday so it is the highest season with higher prices when you are not recommended due to the problems you may encounter such as full accommodations. Nowruz holidays is around March 20th for two weeks when some of the places may be closed due to celebrations.
Besides these two high seasons, you can travel to Iran in almost every month as the weather changes form destination to destination. You can travel to Iran from late November to February (Winter) and visit southern parts of the country which are boiling in other seasons; although, it is bitterly cold in other cities in Winter. On the other hand, from mid-April to mid-October (Summer) is the time for traveling to northern and western areas along Zagros Mountains like Ardabil, Tabriz, Zanjan, Hamedan, Kermanshah, and Sanandaj as well as Mazandaran, Guilan, and Golestan provinces; the period that is boiling in other regions specially in central and southern parts where the temperature reaches 40s C.

- Saturday and Sunday are not weekend in Iran; they are normal working days. While Thursday and Friday are weekends and some sights and places might be close which you need to check with your guide or a local.
- If you are into traveling to central parts and the two mentioned high season are not suitable for you, you can travel to these in early June but not after that due to the weather.
- Iran is an Islamic country which Islamic rules are strictly performed. Ramadan is a lunar Islamic month in which eating and drinking in public is forbidden from sunrise to sunset. Thus if you are travelling to Iran in Ramadan, keep this point in mind. Ramadan does not have a specific time as it is according to lunar calendar and Iranian use solar calendar, and it changes every year.
