Tito Garden of Bafq

Let’s visit one of the old gardens, Tito Garden of Bafq, which was built under the command of Mohammad Taqi Khan, the ruler of Yazd during Safavid period in early 19^th century.

About Tito Garden of Bafq , A Lush Garden

Tito Garden House is located in Olya (Sarestkhar) district in Bafq . This garden with the area of about 1000 square meters and with a beautiful architectural style is made up of clay and mud. The mansion of this garden with dimensions of 17×17 is located in the middle of a garden of grape, pomegranate, and palm trees. The mansion includes an alcove, a janitor`s room, a courtyard, a badgir ( wind tower ) and a vestibule. In the past, not a long ago, the 13-meter badgir of the house fulfilled the task of cooling and air conditioning of the interior space of the house.

This charming and spectacular garden , which is located in the heart of the desert, is very lush and fresh due to the continuous flow of water of Yousef Shahi Qanat, which kept it away from the dangers of conventional droughts.

The Appellation of Tito Garden of Bafq

In Dehkhoda dictionary, we find the meaning of " Tito " as waterfowl, but it is not clear why this garden was named this. In some sources, it is written that the chambers (tu-dar-tu rooms) of this garden is the reason of naming this garden as Tito. 
Tito Historic Garden of Bafq was registered in Iran National Monuments on April 17, 2001 with registration No. 3750. 
Nowadays this garden is used as a lodging and catering complex.
