About Khaloo Mirza House
Khaloo Mirza Traditional House is an old house with four iwans and genuine Iranian architecture which belonged to Khaloo Mirza , one of the grand members and khans of Aqda. It is said that building of this house dates back to Ilkhanid era.
After passing long and intertwined alleys of the old texture of Aqda one after another which reminds us of a long history, an old wooden door placed in a wall made of thick plaster of clay and straw appears. We enter through this door; coolness and calmness of the vestibule tempts us to sit there. We rest for a while to go visit this beautiful old house.
Spaces of Khaloo Mirza House include a vestibule, two corridors, a hall, a porch, a kitchen and rooms.
The ceiling of the house is 10 meters high. Two reasons have been mentioned for this; firstly because this house had been built outside of the walls of the city and they built this high roof to protect the house from thieves and brigands. Secondly because they wanted to have a more pleasant and cooler situation in the atmosphere of their house.
Let's enter this two-sided house. There are 10 rooms overall. The south-sided rooms are appropriate for the hot days of summer and north-sided rooms are appropriate for dry and cold days of winter.
