Navab Vakil House in Yazd

Navab Vakil House in Yazd was constructed by the order of Mirza Seyed Mohammad Razavi, known as Navab Vakil, from the Navab Family of Yazd, during the Qajar period.

Navab Vakil House is a traditional house with a special architecture, and currently a unit of Yazd Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Yazd is located in this house.
The building is made up of an inner and an outer part, while being interconnected, the entrances are on two different alleyways. It also has a 10.5-meter-wide hall, which is very rare in old houses in Yazd.

More About Navab Vakil 

It is interesting to know about the owner of this house: Mohammad Razavi was born in 1856 in Navabs family, a family known for their courtesy, wisdom and being religious. Being the eldest son of the family, after finishing his studies, Mohammad Razavi took on agriculture and then social affairs. He became the deputy trustee of Astan Quds Razavi (an organization managing Imam Reza Shrine and institutions belonging to it), then a member of the third National Consultative Assembly of Iran. During his time, the First World War broke out, he was one of the immigrants, and made an eventful travel. He was a constant companion to the officials and governors of his time and kept in touch with them. Furthermore, he was a skilled accountant and a master of shooting, and an artist with a good handwriting. However, most importantly, Navab Vakil was a meticulous historian, expressing the events of that period precisely and eloquently. At some critical points in history of Iran, like the migration of Iranian parliament members during the First World War, he was the only politician historian. He also wrote articles in newspapers.
