Abolghasem Zargan House is a historic house built in the old historic city of Yazd in the Qajari era.
The Reason Behind Its Name
It was about 100 years ago that Mr. Kolahdouzan ordered to build this house with an area of 1063 square meters. Years later, Haaj Abolghasem Zargan bought the house, and since then it is known as Abolghasem Zargan House. For the time being, this house is in the possession of Abbas Zargan and his brother.
Architecture of Zargan House
We enter through the wooden door of the house, which has different door knockers for men and women. Having three sides to be used in different seasons, Zargan House was built with clay, plaster, and bricks. Flowing water of Vaghfabad Qanat in the basement of this house has made it a suitable place to store fruits.
It's interesting to know that at that time, this house had a water supply in a way that the water would enter the pool by the fountains after getting pumped and being flown to the reservoir. The narenjestan of the house is the same small courtyard in the middle of which there is a pond, and you have to pass the vestibule of the house in order to enter it. There is a 9-meter wide arched hall above the basement. There are also two Sedaris (three-door rooms) with a larder and a high niches and a panjdari (five-door) hall. Look at the walls. Beautiful wall plaster works, some of which are of flowers and some are Quran verses, have doubled the beauty of Abolghasemzargan House to visitors.
