Tehraniha House , Iran's first museum hotel

Tehraniha House in Yazd is a historical house known today as Fahadan hotel and carries the title of the first museum hotel in Iran which is located in old city of Yazd.

Why is it known as Tehraniha?

Built 200 years ago by Sheikh Mehdi Arab , Tehraniha house is well-known for hospitality among the people of the city. His family were known as Tehraniha later and this house was known as Tehraniha House and now it is a place calling every traveller to reside in the heart of history.

Different sections of Tehraniha House ( Fahadan Hotel ) in Yazd

This house comprises of a main section and a maids’ section. It includes spectacular parts such as: a façade, a corridor, the main courtyard with its unique view, a narenjestan (sour orangery) courtyard, avestibule (Keryas), a well, Qanat and a cellar, the shahneshin (a room with two separate badgirs). 

The courtyard and other sections of the house

The main part of Tehraniha house includes a rectangular shaped courtyard covered with closed spaces with an approximate height of two floors. The courtyard is almost located along the north-south and the entrance including the façade, vestibule, and the hall is located at the North West side. The view layout of the courtyard is interesting too. The fountain is located in front of the porch in the center of the green space instead of being located in the center.
The porch, the hall, and the three-door rooms which are all among the main parts of the house are located in the middle of the courtyard fronts and have made strong bonds with the building. 
After that, smaller rooms are located at the sides of each front getting advantage of its view. The spaces of the sides of the courtyard are covered and separate spaces as well, which just use the roof light and are connected to the courtyard via the corridors.
The service section located at the south side of the house has separate entrance. This section is located in the back of the adjacent spaces of the middle courtyard and is not considered as one of the parts of the main section. 

The cellar of Tehraniha House

The cellars located at the east, south, and the south corner of the west side are the other spaces of the house. The east cellar is connected to a space via stairway in which the water stream of the basement is flowing and at the end, the south cellar opens to the wind tower room.

If you have enough time, go to the roof of Fahadan Museum Hotel and watch the old city of Yazd from a beautiful view. Watching Alexander's prison, Tomb of 12 Imams, and the high minarets of Jameh Mosque are altogether enjoyable.
