Architecture of Olia House of Yazd

The plan of Olia House is as a central courtyard that consists of two inner and outer courtyards. The entrance is located at the northwest front and it is connected to the inner courtyard through a long corridor. In the inner courtyard, there is a deep garden. The outer courtyard is smaller and it is linked to the inner courtyard through a corridor. In the outer courtyard, there is a pond and a beautiful stone water fountain. The ceiling of the house is domical and decorated with khonche poush (an architectural term meaning arched ceilings with decorative hanging moldings). Materials used in Olia House include clay and mud, brick and plaster.

Olia House, The Current Yazd Tourism House

The house was used to be residential; however, it has changed to Tourism House of Yazd. Yazd Tourism House is located next to Amir Chakhmaq Mosque on Imam Khomeini Street.

Olia House of Yazd was registered in Iran National Monuments on March 15, 2001 with registration No. 3695.
