History of Arbabi House of Yazd

Arbabi House was a part of Moien Garden at first. There has been a ceremonial mansion in Moien Garden which included living rooms and a summer residency part.
This garden and house were built by Isfahani architectures under the order of one of the Yazd's nobles called " Moien Al-Tojjar " in Naser al-Din Shah kingdom and "Zel al-Soltan" rulling in Isfahan and Yazd. Years later, the main part of the garden and the mansion was bought by " Haaj Ali Akbar Arbabi ". In 1991, the main part of Moien Garden and Arbabi House which was around 2000 square meters was given to Education Department of Yazd to build a house. The area of Moien Garden is around 4000 square meters and the area of its mansion is around 1000 square meters.

Because of hot and dry weather of Yazd and the fact that this garden had been used mostly in the summers, the most parts of the Arbabi House like cool basements, and the badgir in pavilion are shaped in the summer residency part. At the North West side of the garden, there is a small building and courtyard which probably had been used as the outer mansion. At the time being, this small part belongs to the owner and is separated from those parts belonging to the Education Department.
