Adobe House in Yazd

Adobe House in Yazd dates back to the Qajar era and is 150 years old. The house belonged to a Russian businessman named Muhammedow. It was rebuilt in 2014 and opened as a traditional hotel or an Eco lodge. Since the whole building is made of adobe mudbricks (Khesht), so it was named Adobe House ( Khane Kheshti ).
An old wooden door is the entrance to the Adobe House which leads you to the courtyard after passing through a traditional hallway. On the left of the courtyard, there’s a corridor connected to several rooms, and on the right side, there is a dome-shaped wide hall with a very high badgir. The courtyard is surrounded with adobe walls between the vaulted wooden doors of the rooms.
At the center of the courtyard, you can see the polygonal pond with vases and lush greenery gardens which provide a pleasant environment for the guests to have breakfast and tea in the ecolodge, sitting on wooden couches, tables and chairs.
The seven traditional rooms of Adobe House with domed roofs and some niches are located in the courtyard and 2 of the rooms are located on the roof. This historic house with the total of 25 beds makes it a memorable stay in the heart of the historic old city of Yazd.
